Having spent more than 20 years in public service, politics, and international relations, Ryan brings a broad, diverse perspective and a deep appreciation for the importance of balance in all walks of life to her acupuncture practice. She is frequently asked about her seemingly disparate career choices, but she has found that to succeed in either profession requires the ability to listen deeply, keen observation skills, respect for different points of view, and a deep desire for making the world a better place. For Ryan, acupuncture has provided a wonderful gateway to see new possibilities, work with people one-on-one, and marvel at the grace and courage of those who walk through her door and to celebrate the wisdom and healing power of the body. Ryan received her Master’s degree in acupuncture from the Tai SOPHIA Institute in Laurel, MD, one of the oldest acupuncture schools in the country and has served on its faculty since 2008. Ryan is also a certified animal acupuncturist, believing that those who bring such joy into our lives deserve the best treatment possible.
